Privacy policy
Phosfe • Instagram Downloader is a Chrome extension that helps users preview and download media that their Instagram session can access and that they have the right to save. This policy explains the information handled, its purpose and how to remove it.
Summary: There is no developer-operated collection server, advertising tracking or analytics. The extension does process Instagram page/media data, and some of that data is stored locally in your browser. Necessary HTTPS connections are made to Instagram and its media servers. Local processing does not mean no data access or no network requests.
1. Information handled
- Profile and media data: Usernames, user/media IDs, profile names and avatar URLs, media and thumbnail URLs, captions, dates, carousel positions and highlight collection titles.
- Relevant page URLs: The target username/link entered by the user and the Instagram tab or media-resource URLs needed for this feature. General Chrome browsing history is not read.
- Queue and preference data: File and folder names, queued-media metadata, download states and errors, folder preferences and request/cooldown timestamps.
- Temporary session information: Requests use the browser's existing Instagram session. The page's CSRF value and, when needed, a temporary web-query request header are used in tab memory. They are not written to persistent extension storage. The extension does not ask for an Instagram password or read password fields.
2. Page observation and user actions
On supported Instagram pages, packaged code observes relevant profile/media API responses and matching web queries locally. This enables reuse of already loaded media metadata and the page's current query format. Observation can begin when the page loads. Active scans and downloads do not start automatically.
Direct-message, inbox, chat and unrelated API/web queries are excluded from observation. The extension has no private-message reading or sending feature. Active scans are started from the panel by the user. Passive page collection, labelled “Ekrandakileri tara”, uses already loaded data and sends no additional API requests.
3. Purpose
Data is used only to discover, preview, filter, select, download and organize requested media, display queue status and enforce a cooldown after rate limiting. It is not used for advertising, sale, behavioural profiling, credit decisions or unrelated purposes.
4. Storage and retention
The media library, queue, folder setting and scheduling/cooldown metadata are stored in chrome.storage.local. Chrome Sync is not used. User-requested media downloads are saved to Chrome's selected download location.
Library and queue records can remain until the user clears them or removes the extension. Temporary query/session values remain in tab memory and are not persisted. Signed media URLs may expire. The extension does not apply separate at-rest encryption to its local records; users should protect access to their device and Chrome profile.
5. Network connections and sharing
Necessary HTTPS connections are made to relevant endpoints under instagram.com, www.instagram.com, cdninstagram.com and fbcdn.net. The browser uses the existing session as required for these connections. Those services' own privacy practices also apply.
Phosfe Software does not operate a server that receives this extension's user data. Data is not sent to the developer, advertising/analytics providers or data brokers, and is not sold. If you voluntarily send a support email, the address and content you provide are processed through the email service to answer your request. Do not send passwords, session cookies or confidential media URLs.
6. Permissions
downloads: Start user-requested downloads and monitor/cancel queue jobs.storage,unlimitedStorage: Retain large local media libraries, queues and settings.sidePanel: Display the user interface beside Instagram.alarms: Reconcile pending/active downloads after service-worker suspension; not to start unsolicited profile scans.- Instagram and related CDN access: Handle profile/media data, files and previews. No all-sites access, cookie API or general history API is requested.
7. Deletion
- Temizle clears the media library and its scan view.
- Tamamlananları temizle clears completed/cancelled queue records, but does not remove failed or active jobs.
- Removing the extension from Chrome removes its local extension storage and can be used to reset all extension records.
- These actions do not delete downloaded files or Chrome's own download history. Remove those separately from their relevant locations.
8. Limited Use commitment
Phosfe Instagram Downloader uses accessed user data only for the media-preview/download purpose described here. Use and transfer are kept consistent with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. User data is not sold or used for unrelated advertising or credit decisions.
9. Changes and contact
This policy and store disclosures will be updated if features or data practices change. Additional disclosure and consent will be provided where required.
